Solar + a home battery.

No loan. No lease.

Qualifying Texas homeowners get solar panels and a home battery, and pay a set rate only for the solar power their system makes. The battery is included, covered by tax credits and grid program payments.

How it works

Three parts. One simple program.

Your system serves your home first, and helps the Texas grid when it needs it most.

Part 1

Your panels make the power

Solar on your roof powers your home first during the day. You pay a set rate for the solar power your system produces.

Part 2

Your battery stores it

Extra solar charges your home battery, so stored power is ready for the evening and for outages.

Part 3

The grid program covers the battery

Your battery joins a Texas grid program that can use stored power when demand peaks. Those payments, plus tax credits, cover the battery.

One battery. Two jobs.

Keeps your essentials on. Helps keep Texas running.

When the grid goes down, your battery turns on by itself and keeps the circuits you choose running. On high-demand days, it can help support the grid.

Job 1

Your home

Stored power for the essentials you pick, like the fridge, lights, Wi-Fi and key outlets. No gas, no cords, no noise.

Job 2

The grid

When demand spikes, batteries across Texas work together like one power plant. Those payments help cover yours.

Backup covers essential circuits, not the whole home. How long it lasts depends on your stored charge and what you run.

What’s included

Not a loan. Not a lease.

You don’t buy or finance the equipment. You pay a set rate for the solar power your system produces, and your exact rate is shown in writing before you sign anything.

Who qualifies

Check these five things.

1

You own the home, and your name (or your spouse’s) is on the title.

2

It’s a site-built home. Manufactured homes don’t qualify.

3

Your roof has at least 10 years of life left. (If not, ask us about a new roof.)

4

Your power is delivered by [CenterPoint, Oncor, AEP Texas or TNMP – confirm].

5

You meet the program’s credit requirements.

Not sure about your utility?

Look at your electric bill.

In most of Texas, the company that sends your bill isn’t the one that delivers your power. Look for the delivery or “wires” company near the top of your bill or in the charges section.

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask.

Is this a loan or a lease?

No. You don’t finance or lease the equipment. You pay a set rate per kWh for the solar power your system produces.

The battery is included in the program. It’s covered by tax credits and payments from the grid program it joins, not by a loan to you.

A set rate for each kWh of solar power your system produces. Your exact rate, and how it can change each year, is shown in writing before you sign.

Yes. You still buy any power you use beyond what your solar makes from your electricity provider, plus the set rate for your solar power. We’ll walk you through what that looks like for your home.

Your battery turns on by itself and powers the essential circuits you choose, like your fridge, lights and Wi-Fi. It doesn’t back up the whole home, and how long it lasts depends on your stored charge and what you run.

It’s many home batteries working together. When Texas power demand peaks, the program can use stored power from enrolled batteries to support the grid.

Your roof needs at least 10 years of life left. EGO is a roofing company too, so we can inspect your roof and talk through your options, including insurance claims for storm damage.

No. Checking your home doesn’t commit you to anything, and you’ll have everything in writing before you decide.
